Accessibility statement
Laceup LLC is committed to making laceup.dev usable by as many people as possible, including people who use screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, magnification, or who need reduced motion. The digital work we build for clients is held to the same standard.
Conformance status
This site aims to meet Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1 Level AA. It is currently partially conformant, which means most of the standard is met but some of it has not yet been verified. We would rather state that plainly than claim full conformance we have not finished testing.
What has been verified
- Automated testing with axe-core across every route, on the built output, with no violations at the time of writing.
- Contrast measured from rendered pixels, not from stylesheets — including text over photography, where a stylesheet cannot tell you what is actually behind a glyph.
- Keyboard-only navigation on every page: focus order, no traps, and a visible focus indicator at every stop.
- Reflow at 320 pixels and at 200% zoom, with no horizontal scrolling.
- Reduced motion: with the operating system preference set, nothing animates and nothing stays hidden.
- Form behaviour: persistent visible labels, errors announced and tied to their fields, and a submitted state announced through a live region.
What has not been verified
These are genuine gaps, not disclaimers. They will be closed and this page updated.
- Screen reader testing with VoiceOver on macOS and iOS, and with TalkBack on Android.
- Windows High Contrast mode and forced-colors rendering.
- Testing with real assistive technology by people who depend on it, which is the only assessment that finally counts.
Known limitations
- Typefaces are served by a third party
- Fonts load from Adobe Fonts. If that request fails, the site falls back to system serifs. Layout and contrast are unaffected.
- The enquiry form posts to a third-party service
- Submissions are relayed by Web3Forms. If it is unavailable, the form reports the failure and offers a direct email address instead.
Technical specifications
Accessibility relies on HTML, CSS, JavaScript and WAI-ARIA, and on the combination of your browser and any assistive technology you use. The site is built as static HTML; content is readable and navigable without JavaScript, and scroll-triggered animation is added only when JavaScript is available rather than content being hidden until it runs.
Assessment approach
Self-assessed by Laceup LLC, using automated tooling committed to the project repository alongside manual keyboard and zoom testing. No third-party audit has been carried out.
Feedback
If you hit a barrier on this site, please tell us — it is the fastest way for it to get fixed. Email timi@laceup.dev with the page, what you were trying to do, and the browser and assistive technology you were using if you know it. We aim to respond within two working days.
